“Like many folks I was in a “physical rut” looking for a program to prepare myself for the second half of life. The Trainers and Nutritionists at Spectrum provided a comfortable environment for me to assess my initial physical status before starting the program. I knew I needed to make exercise, diet, and lifestyle changes as I was not where I wanted to be physically or emotionally. The workout plan Spectrum created for me matched my current physical abilities measured during my initial consult. My plan focused on physical strength first to help me ease into an exercise rhythm before adding a diet to my daily routine. Once I was exercising 3 days a week and enjoying it, I found it easy to add the dietary focus to my routine. I was encouraged to provide feedback if I felt the need to increase or decrease my level of exercise. Setting small goals up front and not placing too much pressure on yourself is a key to success. The equipment Spectrum provided ranged from free weights, standard workout machines and bikes. All the equipment was specifically chosen to work different areas of the body. The outcome? I lost 40 pounds!! I eat, sleep, and feel much better. Building strength and muscle has reduced or eliminated the fifty plus year old aches and pains that I lived with for years. Overall, I maintain my weight and still work out without having to think about it.”
