Chronic shoulder pain had started to really affect the activities I enjoy. I couldn’t golf, kayak, ride a bicycle or even teach a class without pain. After each round of alameda physical therapy, my shoulder would feel better, but then I would fall back into old habits, stop the recommended exercises and would be right back in physical therapy again.
This past spring, my physical therapist recommended that I follow up my last round of physical therapy with some training at Spectrum Fitness. I couldn’t be happier with the advice. The staff at Spectrum is extremely knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. My body has never felt stronger. In a small group, I feel that I get the attention and motivation I need to keep improving. Not only is my shoulder pain gone, but I have more energy.
In early spring, I was afraid that I would not be able to ride in this year’s Pan Mass Challenge, an event I have participated in for many years. Not only was I able to ride this year without shoulder pain, I felt stronger than I did my first ride back in 1997.
